Seattle Parks presents possible options for community centers

Public encouraged to weigh in on options

SeattleSeattle City Councilmember Sally Bagshaw invites the public to review and provide feedback on possible models of operation for Seattle's community centers.

Over the last six months, an internal working group and a Community Center Advisory Team have examined current uses and developed a menu of options for sustainable, long term system operations for Seattle's community centers.  This study was in response to the Council's Statement of Legislative Intent 101-1-A-1, from last year's budget process.

Hosted by Seattle Parks, the public is invited to weigh in on the work that has already been accomplished for re-thinking our community centers:

Wednesday, June 15

Bitter Lake Community Center

13035 Linden Ave N

7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Thursday, June 16

Jefferson Community Center

3801 Beacon Ave S

7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

This list of options and meeting materials can be found on the Seattle Parks and Recreation web page.  For more information about this process, please contact Kathy Nyland in Councilmember Bagshaw's office at 206-684-8801 or kathy.nyland@seattle.gov.

Seattle City Council meetings are cable cast and Webcast live on Seattle Channel 21 and on the City Council's website. Copies of legislation, Council meeting calendar, and archives of news releases can be found on the City Council website. Follow the Council on Twitter and on Facebook.
