FW: City Budget process information

Hello friends-
I wanted to share with you information about the 2011-2012 budget process.  Below is information about the proposed budget as well as impacts on the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.   There are also a number of links that provide further details about the upcoming public hearings as well as other opportunities for sharing your views.  Please let me know if you have questions.  Thank you for all your work on behalf of Seattle neighborhoods!

Public Budget Hearings, Oct. 13 and Oct. 26
Mayor McGinn's Proposed 2011-2012 City Budget as it relates to Seattle Department of Neighborhoods (DON):
Closing 7 Neighborhood Service Centers (6 nonpayment locations and one payment office in West Seattle)
Eliminating 6 Neighborhood District Coordinators
Reducing Neighborhood Matching Fund budget by $700,000
Reducing Historic Preservation staff and eliminating funds for survey and inventory of properties
