Folk Park Letter

Following letter was recently sent by QACC:

To Whom It May Concern:
The Queen Anne Community Council strongly supports the efforts of Friends of Lower Kinnear Park (FOLKpark) to obtain “Opportunity Fund” monies for the construction of the improvements described in the Lower Kinnear Park Enhancement Plan.
Kinnear Park has a unique place in Seattle’s history as the first park planted in the City, and in 2002 gained Landmark status. This park is a valued treasure for residents and visitors alike.
We endorse the primary objectives of FOLKpark:
To bring more people into the park with compatible active and passive uses
To enhance the park’s natural setting of an urban forest
To tell its unique story as one of Seattle’s first parks.
As evidence of our commitment, we will continue our work with Folkpark in their outreach with the many interest groups who use this park.
Sincerely,
Ellen Monrad
Chair, QACC
